Influenza in the chronically ill

influenzaThe flu remains a major public health problems in the world. The disease burden of influenza is important to its importance derives from the antigenic variation of influenza virus, its high transmissibility, high morbidity and mortality, and its direct and indirect economic consequences.

Anticipated national campaign of vaccination against influenza

The national vaccination campaign against the three types of influenza (seasonal H1N1 and H3N2) will begin later this month, and not in December as scheduled, confirmed the Health Secretary Jose Angel Cordova Villalobos.

Just a day after the official report of an H3N2 influenza outbreak due to climate change led to the advancement of the cold, the Government announced a change in strategy to avoid triggering viral diseases, particularly affecting three vulnerable segments of the population: children under six years, seniors (over 60 years) and pregnant women.
