Human suffering and society

human sufferingIn today’s society there are hundreds of diseases that are damaging the lives of people. Diseases such as cancer and AIDS continue to cause pain and suffering on hundreds of Guatemalan households.

Why is there suffering in the world? Where is its origin? A woman who has detected a serious illness, suffering, and when we lose someone physically close to us, we suffer, the mother abandoned by their children, suffer. The suffering is on the agenda. According to the dictionary of the Royal Academy, the suffering is “suffering, pain, sorrow.”

Now there are two types of suffering, physical suffering and moral suffering. This distinction builds upon the double dimension of human being, and indicates the bodily and spiritual element. Although they can be used interchangeably, to a certain extent, the words “suffering” and “pain, physical suffering occurs when in any way” hurts the body, “while the moral suffering is” pain of the soul. ” It is indeed a spiritual pain, not only the dimension “psychic” pain which accompanies both moral and physical suffering (John Paul II, SD 5). One week to bring scientific activity to society

The University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) will bring its research to society in the coming days to mark the tenth edition of the Science Week, an initiative promoted by the Ministry of Science and Innovation, Community Board and academic institution that is embodied with various initiatives in the campus of Albacete, Ciudad Real, Cuenca and Toledo in which is open to all citizens who so desire, especially the pre-university students.

In order to structure the program, have established permanent offices in the faculties of Humanities, Nursing and Albacete, the Auditorium Luis Arroyo de Ciudad Real, Cuenca Polytechnic School and the Building No. 1 Arms Factory, Toledo . In all these facilities will be installed science fairs in which regional University researchers conducted several demonstrations related to their area of expertise. Similarly, each campus will develop activities to disseminate science and technology, and specialized film festivals, conferences, astronomical observations or recognition of different species in nature.

In fact, the International Year of Biodiversity is found in the Science Week, which devotes special attention to the study of fauna and flora with sessions dedicated to the observation of amphibians or mycology.
The agenda for the Week of Science includes the exhibition “Neural Landscapes” sponsored by the Fundación La Caixa, which is touring Spain with great success in attendance, and may visit at the Campus of Albacete. As part of this initiative will be held informative roundtables organized by the Research Institute of Neurological Disabilities (Idina), University of Castilla-La Mancha.
