Correa: Any de facto government will face isolation in the region

The president of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, warned that any de facto government in South America will be subjected to isolation after coming into force of the protocol of the democratic clause of UNASUR.

“Attempted coup attempt came to power by a de facto government and know that you’ll be faced with total ostracism of the region,” Bush said.

Correa issued the warning at a press conference with his Guyanese counterpart, Bharrat Jagdeo, in which both talked about what was agreed at the Fourth Summit of the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR), which concluded today in Georgetown.

The protocol of the democracy clause was approved today by 8 of the 12 presidents of the member countries of UNASUR, after being prepared by their foreign ministers on Thursday.
